IEEE MNIT Student branch Orientation
IEEE MNIT Student Branch organized an orientation program on October 30, 2017, to acquaint the students of MNIT Jaipur with IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) at international level and the benefits of becoming the member of this esteemed organization.
Vishu Gupta, IEEE member welcomed respected Prof. V Sinha, IEEE fellow, Dr. Rajesh Kumar (counselor of IEEE MNIT Student Branch), IEEE senior member, the execom committee of IEEE MNIT student branch and the students of MNIT Jaipur to the orientation program. She requested Prof. V. Sinha to give an insight into IEEE and its benefits. Prof. V. Sinha addressed the students about how IEEE provides an international level platform for institute-industry interactions, soft-skills training programmes, technical symposiums, international university fairs for the benefits of both undergraduate and graduate students. Then Ajeet Kumar Singh, Chair of IEEE Student branch MNIT introduced the new committee members of IEEE MNIT student branch. The new committee members are Ajeet Kumar Singh as Chair, Anand Kumar Mishra as the vice-chair, Venu Sangwan as the Treasurer, Akanksha Shukla as the secretary and Pankaj Kumar Singh as Publicity Chair. He further gave the detailed presentations about the existence student branch, number of active IEEE student members and past activities. He also declared the upcoming events to be conducted in the following year and the vacant positions of execom committee.
Vishu Gupta made orientation program interesting by initiating a question-answer round related to IEEE. Audiences actively participated in this round and gifts were distributed to the students giving correct answers. Further Vishu requested Dr. Rajesh Kumar to encourage students to join IEEE. Sir told students how we have put our institute on international map by forming a student branch. He further informed students about the various scholarship and project grants provided by IEEE to students and how organizing IEEE events at institute level has benefitted past students. He also spoke about the media used by IEEE. The official magazines of IEEE are IEEE Spectrum and IEEE Potential. He even mentioned that students can take the help of IEEE TV to gain in-depth knowledge of certain subjects.
The orientation program was concluded by the vote of thanks given by Akanksha Shukla, secretary of IEEE MNIT student branch followed by high tea.
