Topic:

Wireless Connectivity and Transmitter Regulatory Compliance

In this presentation we will provide an overview of the wireless technology currently in place to enable connectivity solutions for a variety of applications.  We will outline the more common radio protocols such as WiFi, Cellular, and Bluetooth then discuss how they are implemented either as modules or as integrated RF electronic systems.  Since wireless transmitters use RF spectrum their operations are regulated by government requirements for example from Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US and by the Radio Equipment Directive in Europe.   We will discuss the regulatory certification process for North America and Europe and step through the process manufacturers need to complete in order to get their wireless enabled hardware to market.
