MINUTES OF MEETING

The Executive Committee Meeting was held at 107, ACES Building, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, India – 208016 on August 12^th, 2018, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM.

Welcome and Announcements:

Chairman and Secretary both welcomed all the members present at the meeting.

Agenda Item #1: Ratification of minutes of the previous meeting.

Discussion: The minutes of the previous meeting was read by Dr. Verma and with the consent of all present members minutes were approved.

Agenda Item #2: Proposal of Dr. Gyanendra Verma regarding technical co-sponsorship for international conference MIND-2019

Discussion: Vice Chairman Dr. Nishchal K. Verma read the proposal and Chairman Dr. A. K. Ghosh gave the suggestion about creating a website of IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter to directly download the technical support form and making it more user friendly by preparing an advisory and assisting body. The members present in the meeting gave their consent towards technical co-sponsorship for “1^st International Conference on Machine Learning, Image Processing, Networks Security and Data Sciences” (MIND-2019) going to be held at Department of Computer Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT KKR), Haryana, India during March, 3^rd - 4^th, 2019.

Action Item: For technical co-sponsorship, a technical support request form will be provided to Dr. Gyanendra Verma.

Agenda Item #3: Announcement of IEEE CIS Summer School

Discussion: Dr. Verma announced the grant of $7750 from IEEE Computational Intelligence Society to conduct an IEEE CIS Summer School at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India during December 5^th-7^th, 2018. The theme of the school will be deep learning and computational intelligence. Dr. Verma and others suggested getting the clarification from the IEEE CIS whether we are allowed to change the name of the event as it is going to be held during winter.

Action Item: A clarification is needed from sponsoring agency for changing event name through email.

Agenda Item #4: Any other item.

Discussion: Dr. Verma discussed about his meeting during IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI-2018) in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. He mentioned to use the logo of IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter in technical support form. Chairman and Secretary suggested getting the clarification for using logo of IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter. Secretary suggested arranging the next meeting at Varanasi on August 26^th, 2018 (Sunday).

Action Item: A clarification is needed from IEEE CIS for using logo of IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter.
