Drone Demonstration Seminar
Introduction
IEEE GCET Computer Society Student Chapter has organized a seminar on “Drone Demonstration” on 26th July, 2018. It was a one-day event aimed at making students understand the current technologies in the industry.
Total 279 students from UG level took keen interest and participated in the seminar.
- Seminar (Drone Demonstration): 01:30 P.M. to 03:00 P.M.
About the Speaker
Seminar (Drone Demonstration):
Hem Soparkar, an alumini of Navrachana University has designed and developed Self-Balancing Scooters and has brought his product in the market. He went to China and interacted with the manufacturers and dealers about the latest technology and the current market demand. During his visit, he learnt a lot about the Indian market and the Chinese market.
About the Seminar
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. UAVs are a component of an unmanned aircraft system which include a UAV, a ground-based controller, and a system of communications between the two. The flight of UAVs may operate with various degrees of autonomy: either under remote control by a human operator or autonomously by onboard computers.
Compared to manned aircraft, UAVs were originally used for missions too "dull, dirty or dangerous" for humans. While they originated mostly in military applications, their use is rapidly expanding to commercial, scientific, recreational, agricultural, and other applications, such as policing, peacekeeping, and surveillance, product deliveries, aerial photography, agriculture, smuggling, and drone racing. Civilian UAVs now vastly outnumber military UAVs, with estimates of over a million sold by 2015, so they can be seen as an early commercial application of autonomous things, to be followed by the autonomous car and home robots.
During the Seminar
The following topics were covered in the 2nd seminar on Drone Demonstration:
- An overview of drones and multi-rotors.
- Advantages and disadvantages of drones, multi-rotors.
- A brief description regarding the hardware used to construct drones and multi-rotors.
- Demonstration of different types of drones. 5. A brief discussion about the current buzzwords in technical domain: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IOT(Internet of Things).
