The Student Association of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, ELECSA in collaboration with the IEEE Student Chapter, N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte, has organized a Technical Talk on “Teaching and Learning Communication Engineering Concepts Using Simulink and SDR” on 29th August 2018 at Shambhavi Auditorium. Dr. Prashantha Kumar H., Assistant Professor, Department of E&CE, N.I.T.K., Surathkal was the resource person.Dr. Prashanth Kumar, in his talk in the forenoon has given an insight into history of the communication as a global perspective. He has highlighted the prominent inventions and discoveries in this area. He also has presented the basic blocks of communication systems using SIMULINK.
In the afternoon session, he has demonstrated the implementation of Amplitude Modulation and Frequency Modulation techniques with real time inputs. He has encouraged the faculty and students to carry out similar experiments for the better understanding of the concepts. Around 100 pre-final year students and faculty from the Department of E&CE of the institution have actively participated in the event.
