Title : Reputation Management System in Peer to Peer Networks
Speaker: Ruchir Gupta
Venue: DA 229, ACES
Date: Wednesday, April 10
Time: 6:05 pm (tea at 5:55 pm)

Abstract: P2P networks are generally comprise of rational users. This
leads to the problem of free riding i.e., users want to use resources
from network but does not want to contribute. The problem of free riding
can be overcome by providing suitable incentives for sharing. These
incentives can be provided using some kind of trust/reputation
mechanism. Design of reputation management system for peer-to-peer
networks is a challenging task as these networks are large in size and
don't have any central control or repository. More over when these kind of
systems are implemented, problem of whitewash and collusion comes in the
way.

In this talk I will discuss reputation estimation, reputation
aggregation for power law network and its robustness against collusion.
I will also discuss a technique to counter whitewashing problem in these
kind of networks.
