Agenda

1. Ratification of minutes of the last executive committee meeting.

2. The Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is jointly planning to host 5th International Conference on Power and Energy Systems(ICPS) on 28th October 2013 at Nepal. They have requested to IEEE UP Section for technical sponsorship for conference. Background: The 1st ICPS technically co-sponsored by IEEE PES was jointly organized by our University and IIT Bombay in November 2004, which laid the foundation for ICPS. The conference was subsequently hosted by CPRI, Bangalore in 2007, IIT Kharagpur in 2009 and IIT Madras in 2011. This conference has already established itself as premier conference in the area of power and energy in the South Asian region. 5th ICPS conference will attract international researchers, vendors and utilities and will cover wide range of latest developments in power sector. The proposed venue is Kathmandu and proposed dates are 28Th Oct to 30th Oct 2013.

3. Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur is organizing National Conference on Recent Trends in Energy System (NCRTIES-2013) in KNIT Sultanpur during April 5-6, 2013. They have requested to IEEE UP Section for financial support of Rs. 30,000/-.

4. IEEE Student Branch,DIT Dehradun had organized some technical events, free workshops and

seminars in their college between March 14 and 15, 2013. They have requested to IEEE UP

Section for financial support of Rs. 35,500/- to meet out the deficit.

5. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is organizing 3rd International Conference on Advances in Control and Optimization of Dynamical Systems ACODS-2014 during March 13 – 15, 2014.They have requested to IEEE UP Section for technical sponsorship for conference.

6. Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad is organizing on National Conference on

Advances in Electrical Power and Energy System during Sept 20 – 21, 2013. They have requested to IEEE UP Section for technical sponsorship for conference.

7. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is organizing IEEE workshop on Computational

Intelligence: Theories, Applications and Future Directions on July 14, 2013. They have requested to IEEE UP Section for technical sponsorship for workshop.

8. Announcement by Chairman, IEEE UP Section Formation of new chapter: Computational Intelligence Society Chapter has been formed under IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section. Prof. Nishchal Verma from IIT Kanpur had initiated this process and finally got it approved from IEEE headquarter. The list of current office bearers is as follows:
