IEEE CAS KOLKATA SECTION

Internet of Things (IoT) is the key to the fourth industrial revolution, which is transforming the entire world towards the Internet of Everything. The IoT revolution is poised to change the industrial scenario in terms of the way humans interact with machines and machine interact with other machines. In the future, almost every device around us would be connected to the Internet, collecting and exchanging data with other devices on the cloud. The enormous number of connected devices would be fuelling the data consumption on the Internet. Internet of things is supposed to change the way telecommunication industry functions and would have a huge impact on it. The telecom companies and the network providers need to update their strategies for the management of data services and infrastructure development to keep pace with the changing environment. Some of the core issues that would be visible in the telecommunications industry in the coming years include faster adoption of cloud technologies to deliver impeccable network, platform and solution functionalities; ability of the mobile network operators to deliver the highest-quality functionalities for the network to connect machines uninterruptedly under newer IoT applications; ensure the cloud infrastructure is robust, flexible, scalable and agile to acclimatize to the new application with a consistent service across different connected devices; and partnering with the platform providers to get tailored platforms for their needs. This symposium aims to provide a platform for the state of the art discussion and knowledge sharing on these very pertaining issues amongst the academicians, industry professionals, researchers, and students.
