A) Brief Details about this Program:

IEEE--PES/IAS/PELS Jt. Chapter, IEEE-Hyderabad Section, is organizing this Professional Development Program. We invite Industry Professionals, Young Professionals / Faculty in Academic Institutions and Research Scholars/ Students.

Abstract of the above Lecture :

Power Plant equipment are very carefully designed and integrated for uninterrupted output with reliable and energy efficient operation. Electrical equipment are major functional sub-systems for the electricity produced from the power plant. Any interruption/ malfunction of their output will disrupt the power fed to the Utility grid and its power quality. This will lead to major disruption of  power supply to the end users in various sectors like Industries / Households/ Agriculture/ Transportation and others.

In this program the participants will be able to learn about the following information:

The Concepts, Operation and Design Aspects of various Electrical Equipment in Power Plants. The Protection Systems for various electrical equipment will also be explained in this presentation.

Brief details of the Major Topics that will be covered in the above Program are as follows:

The focus will be on equipment like

 1) Electrical Systems

Turbo-Generators (TG) / Exciter & AVR/ Power Transformers/ Circuit Breakers and Isolators/ Distribution and Aux. Transformers/ Power Plant Grid

2) Combined Gas and Steam Cycle

3) Turbo Generators (TG):

3-1) Design Aspects

3-2) Construction features:
