A melange of industry speakers and undergraduates

It is often found that the undergraduate students have limited interaction with the industry and there is a missing link between what they study in their curriculum and what is being done in the industry. To give a real perspective of what is being done in the industry currently, we endeavoured to bring three industry speakers to talk to the students and recent graduates who are interested in the Automation and Control Industry.  This workshop intends to provide undergraduate students and recent graduates about the know-how of the hardware and software tools commonly used in the industry, along with a hint of the skill set they need to acquire to get absorbed in the Automation Industry. Faculty members and Academics are also welcome as they may find the information helpful and can include some of the topics into their curriculum.

Speakers:

Pankaj Yadav, Power Control Area Manager NSW, Rockwell Automation  (Title of talk: Industrial Automation and what the future holds for this exciting area of Engineering endeavor)

Nick Psahoulias, Managing Director, Beckhoff Automation Pty Ltd (Title of talk: I’m about to graduate, now what?)

David Gardner, COO, Robohelix Pty Ltd  (Title of talk: What technical skills are beneficial for internship and job capabilities)
