Annual Technical Fest (Prastuti-19)
The Electrical Engineering Society of IIT (BHU) Varanasi in association with IEEE Student Branch IIT (BHU) Varanasi, organized the 19th edition of the Annual Festival, Prastuti during 5-7, April 2019. The Prastuti’19 featured a wide array of innovative events and thus reconstructing the era of a technological renaissance. The brief description of prastuti’19 is as follows.
A. 9 Inter College Competitions were organized
- Consilium: Digital Electronics based Event
- Simulim: Power Electronics Simulation Event
- Codigo: Coding Based Online Event
- Cryptex: Cryptography Based Event
- Paper Presentation
- Quizzo
- Recognizance: Machine Learning Based Event
- Simul-8R
- Poster Presentation
The events had a participation of more than 300+ students. Prize money for total events was Rs. 30000.
B. Guest Lecture
A guest lecture was given by well renowned by Prof. K. Gopakumar who received the B.E., M.Sc. (Engg.), and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 1980, 1984, and 1994, respectively. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. With a professional experience spanning over 27 years, he has worked with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) where he was involved in design, development, and testing of a satellite onboard power supply systems including that of SROSS-1 (Stretched Rohini Satellite Series-1).
Prof. K. Gopakumar delivered a lecture on “High-resolution multilevel voltage space vector structure generation for variable speed drives and grid-tied applications”.
C. Workshops
Technical workshop series was also organized on Artificial Intelligence and its application in Electrical Engineering, IOT (Internet of Things), Automobile, Robotics, and Embedded System. The workshops were organized by TechGyan and powered by Microsoft Technology Associate.
