Welcome and Announcement(s):

Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary welcomed all the members present in the meeting.

Agenda Item #1: Ratification of minutes of the previous meeting.

Discussion: The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Prof. Nishchal K. Verma, Chairman, CIS Chapter, IEEE UP Section (CIS11) and with the consent of all the members present, minutes were approved.

 

Agenda Item #2: Active participation of IEEE CIS members from other academic institutes.

Discussion: Chairman announced a request received from Dr. Vishal Goyal, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, GLA University, Mathura, U.P. Dr. Goyal requested to be a part of CIS Chapter for providing his active contribution towards CIS activities. The executive committee members raised their suggestion to include him in the executive committee body of the chapter as “Vice Convenor of Workshop and Conference activities” so that the activities of the chapter can be promoted in other institutes as well.

Action item: Dr. Vishal Goyal has been elected as Vice Convenor, Workshop and Conference activities, CIS Chapter, IEEE UP Section (CIS11).

 

Agenda Item #3: Report of the technical co-sponsored events held.

Discussion: In the Agenda Item #3 of the meeting held on February 12th, 2019, the action item was to get the reports of the events which were technically co-sponsored by the chapter. CIS Chapter has provided technical support to the events listed below:

  • Conference on Artificial Intelligence: Research, Innovations & its Applications (CAIRIA-2019) on January 30th – 31st, 2019 (Webpage: cairia.in)
  • Ignitia Technical Fest, Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT), Kanpur, India on February 7th – 8th, 2019

Action Item: The report of the events has been received and uploaded on the chapter’s webpage (http://iitk.ac.in/idea/IEEECIS11/support.html).

 

Agenda Item #4: Technical support for the events.

Discussion: Chairman suggested to provide technical co-sponsorship to the events such as conferences, workshops, summer/winter schools, faculty development programs, etc. which are going to be held in the future. These events will serve the purpose of CIS promotion platform. Such events are being attended by various researchers across the country. Thus, the membership drives and expert lectures can also be planned during such events to expand the awareness about CIS among researchers.

Action Item: Although the technical support procedure is available on the chapter’s webpage, Ms. Teena Sharma agreed to assist needful to apply for technical support from the chapter.
