IEEE1584-2018 Arc Flash Calculations Update - IAS September 2019 Meeting
Welcome back from the summer break! We are fortunate to offer an overview of the updated IEEE 1584-2018 regarding Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis Implications. In the presentation we will review the changes made as part of IEEE 1584-2018, and how it will affect how arc flash studies are completed. You will also learn the major differences between the 2002 and 2018 standard and how the varies software providers are handling these changes.
Peter Hogan
Peter Hogan is the US. Operations Manager, Power Systems Engineering. He has 12 years of electrical power systems experience, and currently managers Eaton’s power systems engineering group employing 90+ power systems engineers throughout the US. Prior to his current position, he managed the field services operations in Oregon, employing 15 field services engineers in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. He started his career in Eaton as a power systems engineer, completing over 175 arc flash studies prior to moving to management. He has a BSEE from Gonzaga and a MSEE from Oregon State University
