Welcome and Announcements:

Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary welcomed all the members present in the meeting.

 

 

Agenda Item #1: Ratification of minutes of the previous meeting.

Discussion: The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Mr. Mayank Pandey, Vice Convener, CIS Membership Activities, CIS Chapter, IEEE UP Section (CIS11) and with the consent of all the members present, minutes were approved.

 

Agenda Item #2: IEEE CIS membership drives held during the technical co-sponsored events in India.

Discussion: As per the Agenda Item #3, of previous meeting, Chairman announced about the membership drives conducted in India by the Executive Committee Team of the chapter. The membership drives have been successfully conducted as per the following details:

  • International Conference on Computing Applications in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICCAEEE 2019), August 30th- 31st, 2019, Rajkiya Engineering College, Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, India (https://iccaeee.in)

  • IEEE CIS Summer School 2019 on Big Data Analytics and Stream Processing: Tools, Techniques and Application (BDASP 2019, August 10th- 14th, 2019, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India (https://bdasp.iiita.ac.in)

The technical report of membership drives held was read by Ms. Teena Sharma.

Action Item: The report of the events has been received and uploaded on the chapter’s webpage at http://iitk.ac.in/idea/IEEECIS11/support.html. Moreover, the technical event report of membership drives held must be reported to IEEE.

 

Agenda Item #3: Technical support for the events.

Discussion: Chairman suggested to provide technical co-sponsorship to the events such as conferences, workshops, summer/ winter schools, faculty development programs, etc., which are going to be held in the future. This will help to expand the awareness about CIS among the research community. Chairman also suggested about the technical sponsorship, resource persons, and certificate to encourage and motivate the CIS activities among the researchers.

Action Item: Dr. Aparna Dixit, Convener, CIS Membership Activities, CIS Chapter, IEEE UP Section (CIS11) took the initiative to communicate and conduct the further events in colleges of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR to raise the awareness. Moreover, Prof. Vrijendra Singh, Vice Chairman, CIS Chapter, IEEE UP Section (CIS11) will provide the list of resource persons.
