IEEE Switzerland Stamm @ EPFL: Future Directions Committee update
Dear Members,
Our Swiss Section would like to provide you with an update on The IEEE Future Directions Committee (FDC).
FDC addresses new and emerging technologies;
FDC is a liaison and collaborative partner with Societies, Councils, and industry to develop new products and services in emerging topics.
The primary working objective of the IEEE Future Directions Committee:
- Incubates emerging technologies and new applications of current technologies
- Identifies opportunities to engage the engineering community and the general public
- Works with IEEE members and staff to focus on emerging technologies through technical, professional, and educational activities
- Serves as a catalyst for new conferences, publications, standards, educational products, forums, white papers, grants, and projects to support new technologies
The presentation will provide and overview of the on-going initiatives within FDC, such as Blockchain, Digital Reality and Future Networks.
In addition the presentation will also provide an overview into the IEEE European Public Policy Committee on ICT.
The meeting is planned as such :
17:30- 17:40 : Meeting at Sushizen EPFL
17:40 - 18:30 : Update on FDC, and the IEEE European Public Policy Committee on ICT
18:20 - 19:00 : Informal discussion @Sushizen EPFL
