This month we’ll be talking with Greg Kumataka of Brown & Caldwell.

Meeting Summary

King County's South treatment plant can treat over 300 million gallons per day of wastewater under peak flow conditions.  Their raw sewage pump station pumps 13.09 kV switchgear needed replacement without interruption of service to their critical pumps in a space that did not have NEC clearance for conventional MV switchgear.  The initial proposed solution was to install new outdoor switchgear.  Brown and Caldwell developed a means and method to replace the switchgear in place, which was a much preferred solution.  This presentation describes how this was accomplished and how these challenges were met.
