Mr P Anudeep (Assistant Professor, ECE) delivered a lecture on 21st June 2020, Sunday on the topic – “Introduction to Machine Learning”, as a part of the 13 day –“Virtual Webinar Series on Machine Learning”.


  • There was a guest speaker invited at the start of the 2-hour session. Mr Krishna Prasad an Alumni of VNR VJIET, CSE [1999-2003]. The session was named as a "Recharge Talk" and discussed the importance of tools such as observation, awareness and understanding the importance of problem-solving.
  • The speaker started the discussion with a simple but interactive discussion on the various applications of Machine Learning such as Voice assistants, face recognition, stock trading, medical diagnosis etc.
  • Machine Learning frameworks i.e. Training and Testing were discussed with the help of relevant examples.
  • Categories of Machine Learning such as Supervised learning, Unsupervised learning, Semi-Supervised learning and Reinforced Learning were discussed elaborately.

Agenda

The lecture was aimed at introducing the audience to the Uses and applications of Machine Learning in everyday life. To differentiate between the concepts of traditional programming and machine learning along with a basic introduction to ML framework, key elements and categories of ML.



About 60 people attended the Webinar and it was extremely beneficial for students who were new to the concepts of Machine Learning as the Speaker dealt with the topic from a very basic level and also made sure that the session was interactive enough for the participants.
