Featured Speakers
Jessie Robertson & Robyn Birch - Undergraduate engineering students and members of the University of Manitoba Biomedical Design Team. The team won first place in the Innovative Design Challenge at the Western Engineering Competition earlier this year. They will present about the BMED Team and their winning design.
Cassandra Aldaba - Business Intelligence Developer at Skip the Dishes. Cassandra graduated from U of M with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and then pursued an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering. She is also a member of Skip the Dishes' Women in Tech group. Cassandra will be speaking about her current role at Skip the Dishes and what it's like to be a woman in the tech industry.
Susan Crawford-Young - Ph.D. Candidate in Biosystems Engineering. Susan is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and then a Post Baccalaureate in Education. After that she obtained a Diploma in Instrumentation from Red River College. Susan then graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007. She will be discussing her paper entitled "Effects of Microgravity on Cell Cytoskeleton and Embryogenesis."
Anyone who registers before noon on the day of the event will be entered to win a $25 cash prize.
