With the progress of machine learning represented by deep learning, artificial intelligence (AI) that makes complicated recognition and judgment based on huge data groups has entered the stage of practical use. However, as AI permeates and spreads in society, there are considerable concerns about its abuse, misuse, and misunderstanding. This is reflected in the fact that many governments, NPOs, and supranational organizations (European Community, OECD, etc.) have published ethical guidelines for the design, manufacture, and operation of AI since the 2010s.
This symposium will give a bird's-eye view of issues related to AI and ethics from the present to the near future, and at the same time, invite front-line theorists to discuss specific issues in government regulation, education, and social applications in a comprehensive and multifaceted manner.
