WIE Seminar: Conquering Imposter Phenomenon
Have you ever felt like you don't belong at the same table as your colleagues? Like you just "got lucky" and don't really deserve your job or accomplishments?
You are not alone!
Join us for a discussion about imposter phenomenon. Imposter phenomenon (also referred to as imposter syndrome) is the idea that you’ve only succeeded due to luck, and not because of your talent or qualifications. This is a common occurrence among high achievers, both male and female, though even more prevalent among professional women.
WIE will be hosting Maria Neufeld, P.Eng and Manager of Transmission Asset Management at Manitoba Hydro, to give a virtual presentation on her experiences with imposter phenomenon both as a hiring manager, mentor and in her own life. She will also touch on how conquering imposter syndrome is an important piece in improving diversity in engineering.
