SLTC Career Expo 2021
Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) was able to conduct its first-ever career fair: "SLTC Career Expo 2021" in collaboration with the Office of Industry Liaison (OIL) and IEEE student branch of Sri Lanka Technological Campus on 22nd and 23rd of February 2021. The event was carried out under the guidelines of Founder President, CEO of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Eng. Ranjith Rubasinghe.
Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) is in its remarkable juncture where the first set of Engineering students graduated in December 2020 and SLTC had been looking towards organizing an event to create industry awareness on their Graduate profile and how the end product could basically fit the industry needs and add value for advancement.
The objective of the event was to provide the opportunity to meet prospective employers for mock-up interviews or true interviews and acquire a clear view on the opportunities that refine their skills to match the job market that they will enter in the imminent future.
The eve of the project consisted of a Corporate Social Responsibility session for the graduates which was conducted by Mr. Dilrukshan Ferenando who is an executive leadership coach as well as a startup consultant.
As mentioned earlier, main event days of the project consisted of Day 01 and Day 02 which in Day 01 an opening ceremony and the interview sessions were conducted. Day 02 was completely consisted of interview sessions. In the opening ceremony a ceremonial start was given to the project. Dr Lalith Wijethunga who is the Head of People and Culture at SLTC as well as a Senior Lecturer at SLTC, delivered a segment on the topic “cooperate expectations from fresh graduates”. This was followed by a foreign career awareness session delivered by the AIESEC of University of Sri Jayawardenepura. The interview sessions were carried out on both days with the participation of reputed companies as the interview panels.
