The Open Data Cube is an open-source initiative for geospatial data processing and analytics. Currently, there are multiple regional data cubes deployed across the globe for localized data analysis. The data cube indexes open satellite data that can be processed and compared with other data from the same area to identify correlations between local data sets and the environment there. The goal is the establishment of a global datacube with access to open data around the world so that anyone can use it to conduct research or show trends over time from anywhere in the world. This presentation will give an introductory overview of the datacube and showcase some earth analytic capabilities including water detection and riparian buffer studies around the region of Virginia. It will also present the outcome of earth observations of TSM and NVDI in other global regions, such as Peru.

Light refreshments will be provided.
