An Expert Lecture-03 “EV Drive Trains” has been delivered on 22/ April/ 22 by Prof. Praveen Kumar, Dept. of EEE, IIT, Guwahati

An Expert Lecture-03 “EV Drive Trains” has been delivered on 22/ April/ 22 by Prof. Praveen Kumar, Dept. of EEE, IIT, Guwahati, the detailed summary is as follows.

In a sequence of the "An Expert Lecture Series on Fostering Research & Development", the RIT R&D cell organized an Expert Lecture -03 “EV DRIVE TRAINS” on 22nd April 2022 delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Praveen Kumar (Department of EEE, IIT Guwahati). Prior to that, he worked in the automotive sector in Germany for about a decade. His research area is ‘EV motor design and optimization’.

  1. Prof Praveen started talking, presenting the introduction to EV Drive Trains.
  2. He focused on the need and essentiality of EV Drive Trains.
  3. He mentioned that the electrification of the powertrain enables locally emission-free mobility and driving pleasure.
  4. He also mentioned driving high motor efficiency in the drive train increases range or reduces the need for battery capacity. Also, Brake energy can be converted to electrical energy and stored.
  5. He guided faculty members on various doubts related to the topic
  6. All participants appraised sir for the deep insights
