IEEE MVSR SB PES Student Chapter, Institution Innovation Council (IIC) & Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta & Rural Engagement Cell (SES REC) In Association with the Department of Business Management & Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering celebrated World Earth Day 2022 with the theme ‘Invest in our planet’. This event is organized to demonstrate support for environmental protection and create awareness among students.

Mrs.S.E.Pravena, Assistant Professor, DBM Programme coordinator, SES REC, IIC Member, started the session by welcoming all the faculty coordinators, student coordinators, and participants. She then went on to explain the agenda of the meeting and urged audiences to utilize the session properly. Dr. Menaka Bammadi, Innovations Ambassador & ARIIA Nodal Officer addressed the meeting and gave her valuable insights.

Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka firstly thanked the organizers of the event for giving him the opportunity to connect with the students. Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka started his session by explaining the importance of earth day, why is it celebrated, and why it needs to be celebrated. He explained about the reasons for the pollution and the things which will cause damage to the earth. He explained how energy conservation could save the earth. Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka briefed on his role in energy conservation. He presented his daily routine which includes waste management, Energy conservation, and using a bicycle instead of a motorcycle. He shared pictures of him doing the above activities. Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka also shared the pictures of him, his friend, and his family participating in the environmental awareness programs. Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka advised the participants to follow sustainable practices and save the earth for future generations.

Mr. I Narsimha swamy addressed the gathering and shared what earth day means to him, he shared his contribution and commitment towards environmentally friendly activities. Mr. I Narsimha swamy expressed his gratitude to Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka for readily accepting to deliver the webinar over his busy schedule. He pleaded audience to follow Mr. Giridhar Kolanupaka’s suggestions. Later, He explained about the poster presentation competition and started the competition.

The theme for the poster presentation competition is Invest in our Planet. Participants need to draw a poster on a paper or drawing sheet using their creativity without deviating from the given theme. Participants need to present their poster Infront of the judges and audience within 5 minutes. All the registered participants came up with their posters and presented them gracefully. After completing the competition, judges decided the below participants as winners.
