#Workshop #Solar #Photovoltaic #Gujarat

Solar photovoltaics generation is one of the fastest-growing renewable energy in India. Gujarat is one of the leaders in installing solar photovoltaic (PV) in both root top category and independent solar parks connected to high voltage systems. There is around 4500 MW bulk installed capacity and around 1000 MW installed capacity for the rooftop. Also, there is a big potential for adding to this capacity in near future. All grid-connected solar PVs are connected to the power network at either a high voltage network or a domestic supply network in the case of rooftops. This connection is achieved using inverters. With the increase in solar PV contribution to the grid, there is a need for a better understanding of the characteristics of the generation to make the best use of
the potential. With this in mind, IEEE Gujarat Section and ERDA have arranged a workshop to bring experts, developers, transmission utilities, distribution utilities and academics together to explore opportunities and challenges in adopting solar PV generation.
