Dayna Johnson, President of the Board for the Society of Women Engineers, will share her experiences as a licensed professional engineer, a LEED accredited professional, a former GE commercial manager leading large teams through the bidding process for high-voltage electrical substations, and the Emerging Technology Programs and Operations Leader at GE Gas Power.

Alex Flueck, PhD, is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Illinois Tech and a leadership integrity facilitator.
Teresa Heger, MA, Organizational Learning and Performance, is a leadership coach and corporate trainer based in Michigan.

Dayna Johnson of GE
Leadership Challenges: What I Learned - Part 1 with Dayna
Biography:
Dayna Johnson, P.E., is the Emerging Technology Programs and Operations Leader at GE Gas Power. She joined GE in 2012 as a commercial manager, leading large teams through the bidding process for high-voltage electrical substations, which earned her a position in GE’s Accelerated Leadership Program. Prior to joining GE, she worked as a civil engineer, designing water and wastewater projects.
She holds a B.S. in civil engineering and a Master of Engineering Management from Valparaiso University, and she is a licensed professional engineer, and LEED accredited professional.
Johnson has been an active member of SWE since joining as a collegiate member in 2000. She has served in several key roles: Chicago Regional Section president, Region H lieutenant governor and treasurer, and WE11 local host committee co-chair. She received the SWE Distinguished New Engineer Award in 2011 and the Emerging Leader Award in 2018. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors.
Wanda Reder of Grid-X Partners, LLC
Leadership Challenges: What I Learned - Part 2 with Wanda
Biography:
Wanda Reder is President and Chief Executive Officer of Grid-X Partners, LLC, a woman-owned provider of strategic management consulting services for utility clients and their stakeholders, providing business and technology expertise to support operations, projects and future grid goals. Prior to joining Grid-X Partners, she served as the Chief Strategy Officer at S&C Electric Company. Prior to S&C, she held leadership positions at two major investor-owned utilities.
Her pioneering work has led to smart grid deployments and wind, solar energy, and utility-scale battery storage integration into traditional utility systems. An IEEE Fellow, Reder was recognized with the 2014 IEEE Richard M. Emerson Award for her leadership in the IEEE Smart Grid program and in the continued growth of the Power and Energy Society (PES), including the creation of its Scholarship Fund program.
Reder was the first woman president of PES and is responsible for the launch of the IEEE Smart Grid, positioning IEEE as the leading source for information on smart-grid technology. Reder is the Chair of the US Department of Energy’s Electricity Advisory Committee and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
