Sean Murphy has been an entrepreneur since he could drive. His firm, SKMurphy Inc., assists software firms with customer development, focusing on early customers and early revenue. He enjoys working with small teams who plan to change the world, creating more opportunities than they started with.
His company helps early stage startups and consultants market and sell the intangible, whether it is software or services. The company serves as advisors to dozens of startups, helping them explore new options, and to identify early customers and early revenue. Its clients offer software products or services in a wide variety of industries, including engineering, legal, health care, EDA, workgroup collaboration tools, financial, cellular, and text analytics.
Sean is also the founder of Bootstrappers Breakfast meetings that are designed for entrepreneurs to share ideas and leverage thoughts with other folks who are serious about growing their business.
Sean has worked in a variety of roles in the last twenty-five years: software engineer, engineering manager, project manager, business development, product marketing, and customer support. Sean has worked directly for include Cisco Systems, 3Com, AMD, MMC Networks, and VLSI Technology. Sean earned a BS in Mathematical Sciences and an MS in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford.
