Roadmap to LinkedIn CoachIn
On 8th February, IEEE IGDTUW organized a session to introduce and shed light on the
LinkedIn CoachIn mentorship program for women engineering students. The program was
exclusively for second-year B.Tech college students with a minimum of 70% CGPA. The
session saw immense participation of 80+ students out of which 30+ were IEEE members.
The event featured two prestigious speakers, Simran Saigal and Manaswini De, who have
previously been part of the LinkedIn CoachIn program. Simran Saigal is an UberStar intern.
She has also cracked the Uber She++ program. Manaswini De is an upcoming SDE intern at
MotorQ who has also cracked the LinkedIn CoachIn program. She has previously been a
trainee under DRDO.
The two notable speakers were present to provide insightful information to the attendees.
The session saw an immense response from over 100+ participants. The speakers shared
their personal experiences of the selection process, which started with a simple registration
form on the CoachIn website. A Hackerrank test followed this, a phone screening round, and
a final selection round. They gave tips to the students to crack the various rounds. They also
discussed the benefits of the mentorship program those who were selected were given
courses to develop their technical and soft skills, LinkedIn Premium for six months, and a
monthly learning path with resources to prepare for the upcoming internship season. They
were also assigned a mentor from LinkedIn who provided one-to-one guidance, conducted
mock tests and interviews, and familiarized them with various interview situations.
The program had numerous perks, including cohort mentoring sessions on technical topics,
experience sharing from LinkedIn employees, and interactive sessions. The mock tests and
interviews allowed the mentees to upgrade themselves and receive constructive feedback
on their performance. The program's focus on providing practical learning opportunities,
mentorship, and access to industry experts makes it an excellent opportunity for aspiring
women engineers
The session was informative and provided valuable insights into the LinkedIn CoachIn
program. The students were also really interactive and asked questions to resolve their
doubts.
