Innovare Advancement Center Tour and Briefings

IEEE Mohawk Valley Section organized a tour for engineering students from State University of New York Polytechnic Institute at Innovare Advancement Center in Rome, NY. The section also sponsored lunch for students and recruited students for membership.

The students received briefings by Griffiss Institute, which run the center, on STEM internships, Department of Defense scholarship programs as well as entrepeneurship assistance such as the HUSTLE defense accelerator program. Then the students received a tour of the Innovare Advancement Center which houses New York State Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) test site flight line, command center, and an indoor controlled environment for UAS testing. The students also received a tour of Air Force Research Laboratory operated labs at Innovare such as quantum computing lab, neuromorphic computing lab and terahertz communications lab.
