Fugro RAMMS (Rapid Airborne Multibeam Mapping System) is a cutting-edge technology developed jointly by Fugro and Arete Associates. It is a lightweight and easily mobilized airborne lidar bathymetric (ALB) system that is designed to provide high-quality coastal and nearshore bathymetric data sets. This data supports hydrographic and coastal resilience by providing detailed information on the underwater topography and other features that are essential for maritime operations and coastal engineering.

This presentation will delve into the basics of how Fugro RAMMS works, including the signal processing and machine learning concepts that are used to extract information from the data collected by the system. Fugro RAMMS uses advanced lidar technology to measure the distance between the aircraft and the water surface, as well as the depth of the water and the features on the seabed.
