This year, the Denver IEEE is hosting the annual R5 Student Competition at the beautiful new Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center. 
Two of the competitions will be open to the public: Posters and Robotics.
Universities throughout IEEE Region 5 were invited to send Student Teams to compete in the IEEE Region 5 Robotics Competition this Saturday, April 22. Winning Students and Teams will receive significant prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 
The 2023 student robotics competition will encourage cooperative behaviors between ground robots and small flying drones. Working together and leveraging the strengths of the Flying Drone and the Ground Robot, the two platforms will communicate to negotiate autonomously a series of simple obstacles. Both platforms may only communicate with each other to solve the navigation problem.  At the afternoon session, two teams will compete against each other on the same Flying Field.
Also on display is a Posters Session, addressing technical, engineering, management, or societal aspects of any subjects relevant to science, engineering, and technology. After judging, come talk to the students and see their poster work. 
 
Come spend a couple hours at the Hyatt Regency at this free event.  Parking is free on the street, and is also available in the parking garage for a discount rate of $3.
After parking, enter the hotel and review Terms and Conditions and get a name tag to enter to Ballroom.  The drones and robots will be confined in their own fields, safely enclosed by a transparent plastic screen.  Come see the fun!
