The technical talk will be on the “Advanced Power Converter Topology and Control in Grid Connected Renewable Energy, Motor Drives and Energy Storage Systems”. The keynote speaker of this talk is Professor Firuz Zare from Queensland University of Technology, and his brief biography is as follows:

Professor Firuz Zare is a Fellow of IEEE, IEEE distinguished lecturer, a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and the Head of the School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Queensland.

He has over 20 years of experience in academia, industry, and international standardisation committees, including eight years in two large R&D centres working on Grid Connected Inverters, Energy Conversion Systems, and Power Quality Projects.

He has been an active member of IEC, Danish, and Australian standardisation committees and has been a Task Force Leader (International Project Manager) of Active Infeed Converters to develop the first international standard IEC 61000-3-16 within the IEC standardisation SC77A.

Prof. Zare has received several awards such as an Australian Future Fellowship, John Madsen Medal, Symposium Fellowship, and early career excellence research award. He was awarded a technology leadership program by the Danish Innovation Council, to attend one-year leadership program delivered by Harvard Business School in Boston USA in 2015.

Prof Zare is a Senior Editor of IEEE Access journal, a Guest Editor and Associate Editor of the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics and an Editorial board member of several international journals.

He has supervised 30 PhD students, post-docs, and research engineers and published over 300 peer-reviewed conference and journal papers.

This is a day-long program where both undergraduate and postgraduate students by coursework and research work will be invited. This program will be ended by presenting an appreciation token to the keynote speaker.
