Line Following Robot Competition

📍Location: Jordan University of Science and Technology-Ibn Sina Auditorium-
⚠️This competition is a challenging event for Jordan University of Science and Technology students that showcases the capabilities of autonomous robots in navigating a predefined track while staying within the bounds of a lane as fast as possible.
⚠️Participants are required to build a fast line following robot that can follow lines from the start line until the finishing line and avoid obstacles according to the competition rules. The robot must move autonomously.
⚠️Each team comprises of two to three (2 - 3) members. The team members must be students at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
⚠️The competition began with a welcome speech from the Chairperson of the Robotics and Automation Society Malik Salameh, which included welcoming the participants, supporters, and organizers of the competition and announcing the prizes for the three first places:
*First place: 350 JD🥇
*Second place: 250 JD🥈
*Third place: 150 JD🥉
The Dean of the College of Information and Computer Technology, the Head of the Computer Science Department, and the President of IEEE at the Jordanian University of Science and Technology also welcomed the participants.
Then, the competition began in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm according to the competition procedures.
⚠️COMPETITION PROCEDURE
⚠️The participants were distributed to 4 arenas at specific times so that each team would play in the arena allocated to it at the specified time.
📌On the first day, Teams play 2 qualification rounds.
📌On the second day, The team plays 1 qualifying round. From these three qualification rounds, only the highest score achieved by each team will be considered for qualification. The top 32 teams with the highest scores will move on to the next round.🏃🏻
📌Round of 32 (Knockout): The top 32 teams will proceed to the knockout stage. In this stage, each pair of teams will compete against each other in head-to-head matches on two different arenas. Only one team from each match will emerge as the winner and move on to the next round, while the other team will be eliminated from the competition.
📌Round of 16 (Knockout): The 16 winning teams from the Round of 32 move on. The knock-out format continues with another set of head-to-head matches.
📌Round of 8 (Knockout): The 8 winning teams from the Round of 16 advance. The competition proceeds with more head-to-head matches.
📌Finals (Top 3 winners): Out of the remaining four teams, the three teams with the highest scores will be declared the winners of the competition.
The competition concluded with a speech from the head of the Robotics and Automation Society. The supporters, judges, and organizers were honored, and then the names of the winning teams were announced.
