On the occasion of National Remote sensing day on 12th August. An expert session is scheduled for all interested participants on 11th August 2023.


Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan, India's first interplanetary
mission to planet Mars was launched on board PSLV-C25 on November 05, 2013. The
objectives of this mission were primarily technological and included design, realization
and launch of a Mars Orbiter spacecraft capable of operating with sufficient autonomy
during the journey phase; Mars orbit insertion / capture and in-orbit phase around Mars.
MOM carried five scientific payloads to study the Martian surface features, morphology,
mineralogy and Martian atmosphere.
The proposed talk strives to present the technology behind this cost effective mission,
ever made in the world

Biography:

She was designated Project Manager of the Mars Colour Camera, Data Processing of the Mars Orbiter Mission. She is currently designated as Deputy Project Director of Oceansat-3/3A and successfully operationalized Oceansat-3 Data Products Generation System at NRSC, Hyderabad, and also holds various functional designations in the area of Ground Segment – Data Processing System. She carried out the design, development, and implementation of techniques to improve the radiometric data quality aspects of optical sensor data. Implemented topographic correction, time series, and data-cube generation first time in the data processing chain of optical data.

 

Her research area includes software architecture, AI/ML based solutions in Signal and Image Processing area. She is acting as Consultant and Focal Point for various projects, involved in inter and intra Centre departments as an expert. She has Research Publications in the National and International Journal of Publications (Obtained a few Best Paper/presenter awards).

She has been awarded ISRO Team Leader in 2014 for her contribution to the Mars Orbiter Mission Project. She is contributing technical inputs, coordination, and consultancy on the various Professional society activities. She acted as an active member of the Technology Development Programs of ISRO.
