Boot camp on IOT & Robotics

The IEEE Student Branch Of Sri Sai Ram Institute Of Technology hosted a two day Boot Camp on IoT and Robotics for the  student members to learn about the emerging and rapidly evolving technologies of IoT and Robotics. The resource people were eminent professors from Anna University, (CEG campus), Anna University( MIT campus) and Sri Sai Ram Engineering College. The event started with a welcome address by Dr. Saritha G, IEE SB Counselor, following which the session started in full swing.

On the first day, the speakers gave a brief introduction to IoT, followed by a session on IoT Architechture and Components , Data Collection and Analytics , IoT security, and IoT connectivity. The students were also given a chance to participate in a hands on project to further pique their interest and understanding of the project.

The second day began with a small inaugral talk, and a revision of the topics covered the previous day. The students were given exhaustive talks on the various components and sensors involved in the study of Robotics, followed by a discussion on Robot locomation and robot control. Students were then made to do a hands on project, in the course of which they were taught about Robot vision and perception. An interactive session was conducted on the possible application of IoT and Robotics in engineering, and the various job oppurtunities that were available. The event ended on the high note with the distribution of mementos to the speakers as an expression of gratitude, followed by a vote of thanks by IEEE SB SIT Vice Chairman Karthik Maharaja AV.
