Power Electronics in Electric Vehicles
On September 12, 2023, Department of Electrical Engineering in collaboration with IEEE YMCA Student Branch, IEEE JUIT Student Branch, IEEE WIE AG Delhi Section, IEEE SIGHT Delhi Section and Institute Innovation Council (IIC) convened a session on “Power Electronics in Electric Vehicles” at the J.C. Bose University's Multimedia Center. This session was dedicated to exploring the vital role of Power Electronics in Electric Vehicles (EVs).
The event commenced with a warm welcome and the presentation of saplings to distinguished chief guests, underscoring our commitment to environmental sustainability.The event was inaugurated by Prof Anju Gupta, Prof Rajesh Ahuja, Prof P.R. Sharma and speaker. The eloquent speaker for the day was Prof. Prerna Gaur, campus director of NSUT and first women chair elect of IEEE India Council. The event gained substantial momentum through a compelling presentation delivered by the distinguished Prof Prerna Gaur. Her presentation provided an illuminating overview of the latest developments and challenges in the field of power electronics in electric vehicles. Prof Prerna expertise and insightful analysis greatly enriched our understanding of this critical domain, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
In a significant moment, members of the Electrical Department jointly inaugurated IEEE PES for 2023, emphasising their dedication to excellence in the field. The core of the event was a comprehensive session on power electronics in electric vehicles, fostering meaningful discussions and sharing valuable insights. Additionally, talks on startup culture and incubation centers expanded the horizon, emphasising entrepreneurial opportunities within electrical engineering.The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration among participants.

Biography:
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (1988), M.Tech (1996) and Ph.D. (2009) in the field of Artificial Intelligence and control. Presently, Director, NSUT, East Campus NSUT. Professor & founder Head in Instrumentation and Control and Electrical Engineering Department in NSUT (Oct 2018-Jan2021). Six years of Industry experience and 26 years of Teaching experience in Delhi College Engineering and NSUT, Delhi. More Than 150 research papers in International journals and IEEE Conferences. Guided B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. students. She is Director & Member Secretary, Technical Business Incubator of NSUT and NBA Coordinator of NSUT. Member of various committees of AICTE, NBA and UGC. She has organized IEEE international conference IICPE-2010 and INDICON2020 at NSUT and many facuty development Programs in 2003, 2018 and 2020. She is actively associated with IEEE (Senior Member), ISTE (Life Member), IETE Fellow and IE (Fellow). Treasurer, IEEE India Council from Jan 2021. Chair, IEEE Delhi Section (2019-20), Executive Vice Chair (2017-18), Secretary (2013-2016), Treasurer (2011-2012) and Jt.
