Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) A Success Story
Presented by Rob White

Developing an Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) is a process of preparing the information system to continue to provide services – even under extreme circumstances. This presentation will review the steps taken to prepare the financial systems of the FBI to continue to provide necessary services. The steps taken are general and therefore relevant to information systems of other agencies and organizations. The hard work is in the planning and preparation, so that the execution is easy. This is the essence of the presentation, because when the situation is critical – it is already too late to plan.
Rob White is a Computer Scientist with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. From his days as a Boy Scout, he has taken to heart the motto “Be Prepared”. Mr White has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.
The first half of his career, Mr White built systems for various organizations, including: Texas Instruments, American Airlines, US Navy, and several telecommunication and transportation companies. In 2006, Mr White joined the FBI and has worked in several capacities as a Computer Scientist or Computer Engineer. Mr White is a recipient of the 2015 Attorney General’s Award for Information Technology for his work on the financial systems within the Department of Justice.
