IEEE SPS DISTINGUISHED INDUSTRY SPEAKER TWIN CITIES SP/COM CHAPTER SEMINAR 11/16/2023
Lecture by Dr. Ivan Tashev, Partner Software Architect in Microsoft Research (MSR), Redmond, WA, USA, an IEEE SPS Distinguished Industry Speaker, on the topic of "Audio for Augmented and Virtual Reality Devices" to be held at the William F. Austin Education Center, Starkey.
Title: Audio for Augmented and Virtual Reality Devices
In this talk we will discuss the audio processing for the needs of virtual and augmented reality devices. On the input side we have sound capture and speech enhancement pipelines for both capturing the voice of the wearer and for capturing the surrounding audio. On the rendering side we have spatial audio and its personalization. The talk will be illustrated with real-life examples from the speech enhancement and spatial audio pipelines in HoloLens, Kinect, Microsoft Mixed Reality Platform, and Teams.
