Smart Nitte Hackathon 2023
The inaugural Smart Nitte Hackathon, organized by the Turing Artificial Intelligence Student Committee (TASC), Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, NMAM Institute of Technology, in collaboration with Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) Nitte, Karnataka, and IEEE Student Branch took place on November 25th-26th, 2023. With 133 participating teams and a 24-hour coding challenge, the event aimed to cultivate innovation and excellence in technology.
The event commenced with an inspiring inaugural ceremony led by Prof. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal of NMAMIT Nitte. Dr. Ananthapadmanaba Achar, CEO of AIC Nitte, expressed commitment to supporting winners on their entrepreneurial journey. Engaging presentations, a symbolic cheque reveal, and a spokesperson talk by Dr. Shashank Shetty marked the beginning of the hackathon.
Starting at 11:00 am on November 25th, the hackathon featured strategic breaks, mentor guidance sessions, jam sessions, and sports activities. Teams could engage with startup mentors via Zoom/Google Meet, and the TASC cafe remained open 24 hours. The evaluation period concluded on November 26th, culminating in a final evaluation at AIC Nitte to determine the top 3 teams.
Dr. Sharada U Shenoy and Dr. Uday Kumar Shenoy delivered speeches during the valedictory program. The jury, comprising industry experts, presented certificates of appreciation to participating colleges and momentos to startup companies.
Sapient_Scholars from Dayananda Sagar University emerged as winners, with PrepAir and Black Perl as first and second runners-up. Teams were also recognized for internship opportunities, enhancing participants' future career prospects.
Ms. Prathiksha Kamath K delivered a talk, and participation certificates and goodies were distributed to all 148 participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Rakshitha and emceed by Ms. Swathi Pai M.
