This talk provides and overview of applications of AI and software automation in the power industry with several practical examples of these technologies being applied to real world industry problems. Lessons learned are provided with each example and includes when AI should and should not be used. Open-source resources on how to get started in AI along with the benefits of integrating with GIS solutions is also provided.

Nathan of Cybirical & GridIntel

Biography:

Nathan Wallace PhD, PE - Nathan is a Professionally Licensed Engineer in LA, MS, TN, OH, and AL. He has BS degrees in Electrical Engineering, and Physics, a MS in Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He is a Co-Founder and Director of the engineering firm Cybirical and for the power industry focused software company GridIntel. Prior to starting GridIntel, Nathan has worked for multiple utilities in a variety of roles including protection and controls and field engineering. As the Director of GridIntel, Nathan leads new initiatives in cutting edge technology and bringing these latest technologies from idea to implementation.
