This event invites current DC students and people who have been employed by academia or companies after obtaining their doctoral degrees to think about their own careers through panel talk and group discussions.
We welcome students and professionals who are interested in doctoral programs, as well as people from companies who want to know the actual situation of DC students, and people from universities who want to hear the real opinions of doctoral students.

Prof. Ryuta Shiraki of Kyoto University

Biography:

Ryuta Shiraki received his B.E. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronic, and Information Engineering, School of Engineering, Nagoya University, in 2018. He then earned his M.E. degree and Ph.D. in Engineering from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University in 2020 and 2023. In April 2023, he joined the Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University, as an Assistant Professor in the Communications Systems Engineering Division. His research interests include optical networks, network architecture, and network design and control.

Prof. Yusuke Nozaki of Meijo University

Biography:

Yusuke Nozaki received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in Information Engineering from Meijo University in 2014, 2016, and 2019, respectively. From 2017 to 2019, he was a JSPS Research Fellow. Since 2019, he has been an Assistant Professor at Meijo University in the Faculty of Information Engineering. His research interests include hardware security, and he has contributed significantly to the field. He is actively involved in academic societies and is a member of the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), the Japan Society for Fuzzy Theory and Intelligent Informatics (J-SOFT), and the IEEE.


Prof. Yoshiyuki Hatta of Gifu University

Biography:

Yoshiyuki Hatta received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 2010, 2012, and 2020, respectively. From 2012 to 2015, he worked with Honda Motor Company, Ltd. He then worked at Chikashima International Patent Firm from 2015 to 2017. From 2020 to 2023, he was a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at the Intelligent Production Technology Research & Development Center for Aerospace at Gifu University. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gifu University, where his research focuses on electrical actuators, motion control, robotics, and haptics.

Dr. Kazuki Monta of Secafy Co., Ltd.

Biography:

Kazuki Monta received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Kobe University, Japan, in 2018, 2020, and 2024, respectively. He is currently the president and co-founder of Secafy Co., Ltd., a company specializing in hardware security. His research primarily focuses on addressing security threats such as side-channel and fault injection attacks, developing simulation techniques, and creating countermeasures to mitigate these risks. His work plays a crucial role in ensuring the security of hardware systems in the face of evolving threats.


Dr. Osamu Toda of Meidensha Corporation

Biography:

Osamu Toda received his B.E. and M.E. degrees from Niigata University in 2011 and 2013, respectively, and his Ph.D. from Keio University in 2017. Since April 2016, he has been with Meidensha Corporation’s Corporate DX Promotion Group, focusing on developing heavy electrical machinery using signal processing technologies. His academic research spans mathematical adaptive signal processing, nonlinear adaptive filtering, and their applications in sensor network systems. His dual work in academia and industry integrates theoretical research with practical engineering applications.

Mr. Kotaro Matsuoka of Kyoto University

Biography:

Kotaro Matsuoka is currently a second-year Ph.D. student at Kyoto University, working on research in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), a form of encryption that allows computation over encrypted data. His research aims to enable efficient evaluation of logic circuits, such as CPUs, using FHE. He received his M.Sc. in Informatics from Kyoto University in 2023 and his B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the same institution in 2021. He graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Toyama High School in 2017.


Mr. Ryo Kumagai of Meijo University

Biography:

Ryo Kumagai received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Information Engineering from Meijo University in 2022 and 2024, respectively. He is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Meijo University and has been a JSPS Research Fellow since 2024. His research focuses on AI security, with an emphasis on developing methods to safeguard artificial intelligence systems from evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
