On October 5th, 2024, the IEEE NSU Student Branch WIE Affinity Group in collaboration with the IEEE NSU IAS Student Branch Chapter arranged a very interactive and informative workshop titled "Crafting User Centric Designs: A UI/UX Workshop". The workshop sought to introduce participants to the basic concepts of UI/UX design while equipping them with hands-on skills in designing intuitive and visually attractive digital products.

The workshop commenced with an introduction of Maisha Wadud Ananya ,a skilled UI/UX Engineer and Game Developer at TETO. First, she shared her experiences within the field and made presentations of the UI/UX design process more realistic for the audience. After some  welcoming remarks, the instructor led a discussion-exercising session interactively, where participants could reflect on design elements they see or encounter in applications every day. During the workshop, participants were able to learn some of the key principles of UI/UX design, focusing on the user-centered design approaches & usability. They were introduced to practical design tools such as  “Figma”, where live demonstrations of how to create and optimize user interfaces were done. Although participants wanted more of the session but due to time shortage the session wrapped up with a very interactive question-and-answer session in which the participants got an ample opportunity to ask questions and even got design projects reviewed.

To conclude the session, Suraiya Islam Meem, Chair of IEEE NSU Student Branch WIE Affinity Group, and Tabassom Nabila, Chair of IEEE NSU IAS SBC, presented the instructor with a token of appreciation for her valuable contributions. The session officially ended at 5:45 PM with a group photo to commemorate the successful event. This workshop equipped participants with a solid foundation in UI/UX design principles and practical tools, empowering them to apply these skills in their future projects.
