Lecture and Round Table on the Insertion of Women in the Technology and Exact Areas

On October 9th, from 2pm to 5pm, in the BICEN auditorium, IEEE UFS will hold a special lecture dedicated to the inclusion of women in technology courses and exact areas. The event will feature the participation of professors, master's students and undergraduates from UFS, as well as professionals already in the job market, including representatives from the Federal Institute of Sergipe (IFS - Lagarto campus). High school students from Colégio Armindo Guaraná are also present, further enriching the discussion.

The main objective of the lecture is to promote a space for open dialogue about the challenges and achievements of women in fields traditionally dominated by men.

The guests will share their professional trajectories, addressing both the barriers they faced and the successful strategies for promoting gender equality. This sharing aims to inspire new generations, including high school alumni, to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

The event will include a question and answer session, allowing participants to interact directly with the guests and ask questions about topics such as the importance of mentoring, support networks and initiatives that can be innovative to strengthen the female presence in these areas.
