IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch Celebrating IEEE Day

IEEE Day is a global celebration held annually, commemorating the first time IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas. At IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch, we seized this occasion with a two-part event.

In one hand , on September 29th, 2024, we hosted a team building event at Le Chalet Events, offering a chance for our new members to integrate into the IEEE family while celebrating this special occasion together. The day began with a brief introduction to IEEE, highlighting its mission and goals.

We then engaged in interactive activities such as IEEE themed quizzes, team games, and karaoke, helping everyone bond in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our IEEE booth, beautifully decorated in IEEE Day colors, featured flyers, cakes, and other celebratory items. Members proudly wore their IEEE Day shirts, and we captured the moment with a group photo in front of the booth, commemorating our shared enthusiasm for technology and community.

Additionally, we introduced a special feedback board designed with IEEE Day colors, where members could share their thoughts, feedback, and expectations about their journey with IEEE. This interactive element gave everyone the opportunity to express their ideas and contribute to the branch's future growth.

In another hand , we continued the IEEE DAY celebration while inviting our all IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch members on the 09th of October In Amphiatre of ESPRIT , we commenced the gathering by an opening word from our IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch chair welcoming our guest Mr Mekki Ksouri , the IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch councilor as well as Mr Ala Chalghaf the IEEE IES SAC chair & the IEEE R8 WIE CRSP member , Ms Malek Miri the IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch former vice chair , also Ms Abir Tabarki , the IEEE AESS Undergraduate Student Representative to be a part of the journey , begging by introducing the IEEE mission , goals and benefits as well as personal experience . Later on a panel discussion led by Ms Takwa Fguiri the IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch chair , in which Mr Ala , Ms Abir and Ms Malek shared their IEEE experience from being a IEEE Esprit member to ther current positions , mentioning their acheievement , experience highliting the ups and downs , their favourite memory within the IEEE .

The discussion also covered the many benefits and opportunities that IEEE offers, such as grants and awards, further motivating our members to explore and take advantage of these resources.

To wrap up the in person event, we held an engaging IEEE quiz, with prizes awarded to the top three participants, encouraging member involvement within the IEEE community.

In addition to the on site technical program, an online component of IEEE Day was hosted by various IEEE ESPRIT Student Branch units. This virtual event extended the celebration to members who could not attend in person, offering them workshops and technical discussions, ensuring all members could engage in the learning and celebration, regardless of their location.
