The IEEE Central Illinois Section (CILS) participated in IEEE 2024 at Peoria's Career Spark event.
In total, the event (hosted by the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council and Junior Achievement of Central Illinois) drew about 4,000 students from 70 area schools. This activity gave students an opportunity to participate in a hands-on activity: assembling their own circuit using a breadboard that flashed an LED using a 555 timer. Over 150 students build a functioning 555 circuit and were able to take the kit home.
