EMBS DAY 2024
The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society Student Chapter at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte organized a day of activities to discuss interdisciplinarity in biomedical engineering as part of IEEE Day 2024.
The event featured speakers from the fields of clinical engineering, biological signal processing, neuroscience, bioinformatics, and rehabilitation engineering.
The Student Chapter volunteers worked hard to promote the event and were recognised by teachers and students at the university. Throughout the programme there were mini-courses on 3D modelling and using the R language for bioinformatics. At the end of the programme, a roundtable discussion brought together graduates of the university's biomedical engineering course who are currently working in research, the market and industry.
The event was attended by around 60 students from the Exact Sciences and Engineering programmes. This was an excellent platform for the IEEE EMBS UFRN Student Chapter, which was reactivated less than a year ago, to gain a foothold and become known among the university's students.
We believe that solving the world's problems necessarily involves interdisciplinarity and bringing together creative minds from different fields of knowledge, and this was the focus of the event. A celebration of IEEE's 140th anniversary!
