WIE General Body Meeting
The WIE IEEE General Body Meeting, held on 28th September 2024 at Dhyan Kaksh, focused on event planning and leadership development. The session began with a welcome from the WIE Chairperson and Secretary, setting the stage for discussions on two key events: the Elocution Competition and Tech Mavens 2.0.
Detailed plans for the Elocution Competition, scheduled for 30th September, were discussed, with tasks assigned for promotion and execution. The meeting also provided an in-depth briefing on Tech Mavens 2.0, set for 1st October, featuring challenges like code debugging, fact-checking, navigating Wikipedia, and identifying movie quotes. Second-year students were encouraged to contribute by preparing questions and taking on technical roles in organizing the event.
A major focus of the meeting was encouraging leadership and responsibility among second-year students. They were invited to take on both technical and managerial roles, with guidance on role selection based on personal strengths and career aspirations. The introduction of mentorship programs further supported students in transitioning into leadership positions for future events.
In conclusion, the meeting was productive, with clear roles assigned and active participation from students. Preparations for the upcoming events are progressing smoothly, fostering leadership and skill-building within the IEEE community at JUIT.
