With incorporating the introduction of mathematical aspects, data science, and AI to university education, many universities are faced with the task of hiring faculty staff and designing the content of their courses. Since its foundation, the Open University of Japan, to which I belong, has managed to meet the changing needs in society. In April 2021, the Open University of Japan started to distribute distance learning courses of literacy in mathematical aspects, data science, and AI for students of other universities in Japan. In particular, we have designed a course on ethical issues, which can be taken by university students all over Japan.
