IEEE Day celebration
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at GJUST Hisar, Haryana, celebrated IEEE Day 2024 on October 10th. The event commenced at 10 a.m. with a welcome address by Prof. Suman Dahiya, Chairperson of the EEE department, followed by remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Sandeep Arya. Dr. Priyanka Dalal then introduced IEEE Day and highlighted the benefits of IEEE society membership for B.Tech students.
The day featured two key activities: a PowerPoint Presentation Competition and an Arduino Workshop. The presentation competition, held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., saw 12 students showcase innovative ideas and emerging technologies, including solutions for women’s safety using AI, smart fabrics, and energy storage. After lunch, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Dr. Ritu Boora led an Arduino Workshop attended by 30 students, providing them with hands-on experience in Arduino programming and practical applications. The valedictory session at 4:00 pm marked the official closing of the IEEE Day 2024 celebrations in which trophies and certificates were given to the competition winners, volunteers and participating students. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Priyanka Dalal, who expressed gratitude to the CRFID-APS Joint Chapter, Delhi section for sponsoring the event.
The event was a resounding success, fostering innovation, technical learning, and collaboration between students and faculty.
