The AI Unlocked event, organized by IEEE IMS, unfolded with great enthusiasm and
energy. Our esteemed speaker, Jayesh Pingale, a graduate of VIT Pune from last year,
delivered an inspiring session. This event was organized on the occasion of IEEE Day.
Following the inauguration, a thought-provoking conversation took place between Jayesh
Pingale, Dr. Sanika Patankar, Prof. Vijaykumar Bhanuse, club heads Janhavi Awari and
Narayani Wategaonkar, along with club coordinators Apoorva Kunte, Saumitra Kulkarni,
Aryaa Kher, Soham Kalambharkar, and attending school students. Their insights set the
stage for a truly enlightening experience.
Approximately 50 students from Vishwakarma Vidyalaya attended the session titled "AI
Unlocked." This session offered them a unique opportunity to explore the world of artificial
intelligence and its practical applications. School student groups, guided by second-year
engineering students from the Instrumentation Department, were led through an engaging
and informative event. The engineering students showcased AI-related projects, providing
insights into how AI can benefit students in various fields. The session covered fundamental
concepts of AI, including real-life applications like ChatGPT and other AI tools. The
engineering students explained the functionality of AI technologies in a way that was relatable
and easy to understand. These explanations enriched the students' knowledge, offering
valuable insights into how AI is shaping the world around them.
To enhance the learning experience, the session included graphical representations of AI
systems, making complex concepts more accessible. This hands-on, peer-to-peer approach
allowed the school students to directly interact with their slightly older peers, making the
experience both engaging and educational. The session encouraged a dynamic exchange of
knowledge between students from different educational backgrounds, fostering an
atmosphere of curiosity and learning. Feedback was actively sought from both the school
faculty and students to ensure continuous improvement for future events. The session
concluded with a felicitation ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of the organizing
committee, speakers, and participating students. A heartfelt vote of thanks expressed gratitude
to everyone involved, emphasizing the collaborative effort that made the AI Unlocked session
a resounding success.
